November marked the first anniversary for Itasca Naturopathic Clinic. Dr. Lee Aberle continues to come up from Sartell once a month to see established patients. Dr. Laurie Chapman has decided to focus her attention on building her practice in Duluth and is no longer available for colonic hydrotherapy; we will miss Laurie and her valuable service.

Just a reminder that now that Dr. Rachel Oppitz lives in Park Rapids, she is available anytime to address acute care needs (sinusitis, colds, flu, coughs, diarrhea, urinary tract infections, ear infections, etc.) and well woman annual screening exams, as well as treat chronic conditions.

Itasca Naturopathic Clinic is now offering a host of new functional labs (iodine testing through Doctor’s Data, neurotransmitter testing through Neuroscience, vitamin/mineral analysis and comprehensive lipid profile testing through Spectracell), in addition to the existing labs through Genova, Alcat, and Diagnostechs. Look for more information in future newsletters; or call 237-2312 for further details.

Itasca Naturopathic Clinic, Dr. Rachel Oppitz also opened an office in Bemidji, MN. To find out more information please feel free to call
218-237-2312.
The new year brings the perfect opportunity to address the importance of detoxification. Dr. Rachel Oppitz recommends that everyone include a detoxification or cleanse at least twice a year, optimally in the spring and fall. Detoxification and cleansing are used to stimulate and support all the body’s means of processing and eliminating hormones, chemicals, and other daily substance exposures. Toxic overload may contribute to illnesses such as allergies, chemical sensitivity, fibromyalgia, IBS, PMS, perimenopause, acne, eczema, and psoriasis. You do not need to suffer from any particular illness to do a detox/cleansing program. It is beneficial for almost anyone who wants to improve their health.

It is not a question of whether or not you have been exposed to toxins—the question is whether or not these exposures are significantly impacting your health.

The programs listed below are designed for the working person. Dr. Oppitz’s detoxification program is not a fast in which you only consume liquids. You are provided a medical food that will supply nutrients for total detoxification, along with a whole foods elimination diet and additional supplementation to support the detoxification process.
